* STUDENT'S BOOK. Pag. 145. 7B Second conditional
+ Second conditional sentences: if + past simple, would/wouldn't + infinitive
- Utilizamos el segundo condicional cuando nos referimos a una situación hipotética ó
imaginaria presente o futura y su consecuencia.
Ej: If I had a job = I don't have a job, Imagino tenerlo
1- Usamos el past simple después de IF y en la otra parte WOULD/WOULDN'T + INFINITIVE
Ej: If I had a job, I would get my own flat. If I didn't have money, I wouldn't buy a new car
2- Se puede utilizar COULD en lugar de WOULD en la otra parte de la frase
Ej: If I had a job, I could go on holidays
3- Después de IF podemos usar WAS ó WERE con I, he, and she
Ej: IF I were you, I would buy a new computer / If your sister were here, she'd know what to do
4- Utilizamos el segundo condicional If I were you, I'd (Si yo fuera tu, yo...) para dar un consejo;
en este tipo de situación no utilizamos generalmente IF I was you...
Ej: If I were you, I'd buy a new computer
+ Cuando utilizar el primer o el segundo condicional
- Primer condicional - Se utiliza para expresar situaciones reales
Ej: If I have time, I'll help you (Situación real es muy probable que tenga tiempo)
- Segundo condicional - Nos referimos a una situación imaginaria o hipotética
Ej: If I had time, I'd help you(Situación imaginaria, ya que expresa que ahora no tengo tiempo)
+ Would/ Wouldn't + infinitive
- A menudo usamos WOULD/ WOULDN'T + INFINITIVE sin IF
cuando hablamos de situaciones imaginarias. Ej: I'd never buy a car as big as yours
